Guitarist and Musicologist

With more than 30 national and international awards to his credit, Luis Alejandro García (Tenerife, Spain) is one of the most awarded Spanish guitarists of his generation. Praised as an interpreter who combines 'virtuosity with exceptional musical nuance in his playing' (Enric Madriguera, Russell Cleveland Director of Guitar Studies at UT Dallas), has won First Prizes at competitions such as Concorso Internazionale 'Gemona del Friuli', 'José Tomás - Villa de Petrer' International Guitar Competition, El Primer Palau Prize, 'Ciudad de Coria' International Guitar Competition or the Permanent Competition of Juventudes Musicales de España, among many others.

He has made his debut in prestigious halls such as Musikverein Wien or Palau de la Música Catalana, and his tours have taken him to Germany, the United States, Austria, Chile, Argentina, Andorra and a large part of Spain. He has also performed as a soloist with ensembles such as Gran Canaria Philarmonic Orchestra, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès or Tenerife Symphony Orchestra together with conductors like Karel Mark Chichon, Xavier Puig or Alessandro Palumbo, among others. In 2018 he released his first CD, 'Lazos sobre el Atlántico' (JSM Guitar Records), in which he links his classical music education with his Latin American music passion and he is currently working on his second album for release in 2021. He is a member of Canary Guitar Quartet, with which he has been internationally awarded, in addition to having released their first record, '21'.

In continuous growth, his career will lead him to debut as a soloist in such famous venues as the Teatro Monumental (May 22'), together with the National Radio and Television Orchestra of Spain (ORTVE), as well as concert tours on USA, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil or Italy. Luis Alejandro García plays on Vicente Carrillo guitars and Knobloch Strings.

'Luis Alejandro García combines a huge virtuosity with exceptional musical nuance on his playing, full of shades and tones'
